Wayfarer's Chapel
This building is made completely of glass with the exception of the small metal strips which connect the pieces of glass. It overlooks the Pacific and is used for public meditation and frequently for weddings. Chuck's secretary at Poly was married there last year and he was able attend her wedding in this beautiful chapel.

Incredibly beautiful vegetation is everywhere you look. The above is Mexican Sage.
Nasturtiums grow wild on the hillsides above the ocean and roses, especially white iceberg, are in every yard and building.

Chuck and I had the opportunity to travel to Los Angeles yesterday to attend the funeral of a dear friend. We decided to make it a "fly in, fly out" day. We left Heber at 4:30 AM and arrived back in Heber around midnight. A long day, but satisfying and enjoyable. Before the service, we traveled along the coast and took a few pictures. The weather was spectacular, the scenery was magnificent, and we were retired. It made for a lovely morning.
All of the above pictures were taken with my Nikon 3000. When you have beautiful subjects, being a photographer is a snap.
Beautiful pictures, beautiful California coast! What's not to love about that? This retirement thing is just to totally die for isn't it. Well, not die but certainly worth getting old for.
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are beautiful and make me miss California. However, not having family there makes it undesirable to me. I love where I live and would only live one other place. California is a great place to visit though. I'm glad you guys had a great trip.
ReplyDeleteI love California! The flowers, the architecture, the ocean--it is really a paradise. Explain to me again why you left?
