A GATHERING OF EAGLES

Bald Eagles

As we turned up the driveway to our home this afternoon, we noticed these bald eagles free wheeling to the west of our property. At first there were two and then another appeared from over the hill. There were at least five in all. They were flying in pairs and alone and two eventually landing on the hillside. We have seen them often lately and presume that they are preparing their nesting area. There is an area of scrub oak just over the hill where they are probably working on their nests.

  1. Rebecca, you are becoming a serious naturalist. I love all your critters. The are fabulous. m

  2. Alfred Tennyson, Lord Tennyson
    The Eagle
    He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
    Close to the sun in lonely lands,
    Ringed with the azure world, he stands.

    The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
    He watches from his mountain walls,
    And like a thunderbolt he falls.

    I love that poem--

    I know you also miss teaching the poetry.
