MORE FLOWERS IN THE GARDEN

Poeny

One Plant...Same flower
I have 10 plants....l flower, l more bud

 Catmint

Shasta Daisy

Bearded Iris

Purple Salvia

My bearded iris have been a disappointment this year.  Each year the colors have faded until now many are a unattractive shade of orange.  All of my plants were orginally shades of blue and purple.  Last year, I knew that I should dig them up, enriched the soil, and divide the plants, but I did not.  I will definitely follow through at the end of August this year.

LUCY....A DOG'S TALE

Lucy
4 Months

Annie has no patience with Lucy
and wishes she would go Away

Cody tolerates Lucy

Two weeks ago Saturday, Lucy stopped eating....Sunday and Monday she drank a little broth and water and was obviously languishing.  Vet was closed Sunday and Monday for Veteran's Day, so Tuesday was our first opportunity for help.  They admitted her, xrayed her twice and started an iv....forced fed her...and watched her unto Thursday.... no improvement.  We transfered her to an animal surgical hospital in Salt Lake where they gave her a sonigram and found that there was something in her intestines causing a blockage. She was operated on Thursday evening.  They found a piece of fabric in her intestines.  We picked her up on Friday evening....along with a c-collar and three medications. She has rebounded quickly and should be as good as new in a week or two.

I know.....we are crazy, but we felt committed to her and were unwilling to allow her to suffer or to put her down.

My blog would not allow me to continue when I first posted on Lucy's brush with death.  However, again, Luke has come to my rescue and I am happily blogging away.  "Thanks Luke!"
