Summer is a tough competitor.  Two weeks ago the chain on her bicycle broke and she was forced to return to the start line.  She pushed and coasted her bike through the first lap....her dad repaired the chain and she started the race over again.  After completing the race, she had a smile on her face and thanked us for coming.  She is a champion in every sense of the word.  We enjoy watching her compete.

Halftime

Parker injured his left wrist just before halftime and did not play in the second half.  A trip to the ER diagnosed a sprained wrist...swelling...pain, but no break.  He will probably miss his next game, but we are hoping to see him on the field for game 7.

We all know that when you do not know anyone on the field at a high school football game, well what more can I say.......
.....we will miss those Friday Night Lights. So........

Parker, get well Soon!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENNY

Today is Jenny's Birthdaty and certainly a time to celebrate.  Though, I am not sure why.  Life is funny!  Mothers carry babies for nine months, deliver them under unpleasant conditions, and nourish them throughout the night and day.  They bathe them, clothe them, rock them, feed them, play with them and teach them.  They comfort them when they are hurt and when they are sad.  They shuttle them to piano, dance, school, soccer, baseball, and t-ball.  They keep them from harm and teach them right from wrong....and yet when their annual day of delivery comes around, it is the child who is celebrated.  Life seems to be turned around.  Children, I think, should be celebrating their mothers.  Odd, but Mothers, I am sure are the ones who celebrated their children in the first place.  They planned the party, shopped for the gift, baked the cake, cooked the dinner, and were the ones who lite the candles and sang the loudest.  Mothers, forever the givers,  forever the nurturers and forever the lovers.
Jennifer is just such a mother.  And, we love her for loving our grandchildren and loving our son.  We love her because she is beautiful, and smart, and talented, and kind.
Happy Birthday Jenny!!!!
