been worn.

These shoes were purchased for Jennifer's wedding and have been worn one time.

Why, you asked, have these little lovelies been worn so few time. You guessed it. They kill my feet. But, I cannot bear to part with them, so they sit as high heeled sculptures in my closet. I have a new closet where I am able to see every pair of shoes I own. I get a little thrill every time I look at my collection which is arranged by color and purpose.

The two strands of pearls were purchased while I was in Beijing at the Ru Pei Pei. Thank you Debbie for escorting us to this lovely little pearl boutique. Many Sundays, I throw on my little black dress uniform, don my pearls and I am off without much thought.

The crystal is used, at best, two or three times a year- Christmas and Thanksgiving, definitely, but it stands at attention in my china cabinet. I often leave the light on all day long just so that when I walk by I can see each stem sparkling in its appointed place. That glance makes my spirit soar.

Shallow, I know. But, when you have gone off to work for 35 years, raised five children, and seen them happily married with their own families, you are to be indulged these little pleasures.

And...so I do!
