TEXAS TIME........Antique Rose Emporium...Brenham, Texas

This rose emporium exhibits and sells "old roses".
Located in Brenham, Texas, it is a delightful place to brouse.

The climbing roses on the iron trellises in the background will be dripping almost to the ground later in the season.

Over the last seven days, I have traveled the highways and byways of east and central Texas visiting my sister and her family.  Along the way it was delightful to revisit the people and places of my youth and childhood.  My mother was born in west Texas, but moved to Houston during the depression where she eventually married my father who was from east Texas.  My sister and her family still live in the Houston area.  She and her husband have 6 children, five of which live within a two hour drive of her.  Two of them go to her same church and one lives minutes away.  We visited or were visited by each family.  It was such a pleasure to visit in their homes and observe them interacting with their children. Texans love to entertain and consistently do it with style.  My sister is the grande dame of entertaining and I was an appreciative guest.

Over the next several days, I will delight you with highlights of my journey.
