Karen and Paige drove to Lampasas on Thursday and returned to San Antonio on Saturday with me in tow.  I had coordinated my dates so that I could attend Paige's dance recital.  It was wonderful to be in their home in the hours before the big event....Karen applying Paige's makeup, me shortening the straps of her tutu, and Karen slicking back Paige's curls into the requisite bun.  The pre-activites were almost as much fun as the dance itself.  

Paige is interested in books and reading, sports and soccer, science and bugs, music and singing, ballet and performing.  Being an only child has its advantages.....everyone is totally involved in every aspect of your life and wants to help you become the best that you can be....to have every advantage available to you.  Paige handles all this attention with appreciation and respect.  She is a lovely child and Karen and Roy are loving parents.

Judy's "country home" holds all the pleasure not available to a condo dweller.  Paige is a born naturalist and is constantly on the lookout for ladybugs, butterflies, cardinals, and stink bugs.  Her mother is her biggest supporter.

Judy and I have shared Lampasas with Karen and Paige for the last two years.  Karen's husband Roy graduates from Physician's Assistance School at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio in December. They will move on to  his residency at another military base, probably in another state.

It is likely that she and Paige will never share time again with my sister and me in Lampasas, Texas.  But, the memories will last a lifetime.
