Wildflowers on the Range

These are wildflowers that appear on our property each summer without any special effort on our part. We never know where they will pop-up....along the driveway, in a field, or even in a flower bed with other cultivated perennials. We are at 6200 feet. At higher elevations, in the mountains around us, the show is even more spectacular. These photos were taken with my Nikon D3000.

Dog Days of Summer

It has been "Hot" in our Valley today...92 degrees and 100 degrees in SLC. Weeds love this warm weather, so we are pulling and spraying constantly. Today, Poppy sprayed the weeds and clover in the grass, sprayed the grasshoppers around the house and at the street ( last year they chewed away on our fir trees and the Russian Sage), and sprayed the wasps in the eves of the house. Who would have known several years ago that he would become such a "killer".

Cody and Annie have just returned from a run behind the 4-wheeler. They love the water after the hot pavement and warm weather.

Learning from the Master

Parker, Summer, Chuck and I had fish for lunch. We had no cornmeal, so we dredged them in egg and cornmeal stuffing, just like they do at the Cadillac Grill in Jackson Hole. They were delicious.

With our children having flown the coop, we are able to visit with each other several times a year, even though we live 1500 miles apart. I love our visits, Judy.

Mary and I live 30 minutes from each other and often go to lectures and have lunch together.

No one listens like a sister. I am blessed to live near her.

Judy, when will you come again? I miss you already.
